Grammar Focus: Reflexive Middle Verb (part 1)
The reflexive middle verb shows that something is being done for oneself or by oneself. It is formed by suffixing -addh to the verb root.
Simple verb + addh
- bit + addh = bitaddh (buy for oneself)
- fid + addh = fidaddh (bring for oneself)
- jaar + addh = jaaraddh (build for oneself)
Isiin meeshaa ala waadaa bitatti. (She buys kitchen utensils for herself.)
