2. Irreechaa: The Thanksgiving Festival
Irreechaa is the premier cultural thanksgiving festival celebrated by millions of Oromos at sacred lakes (Irreechaa Malkaa at Hora Finfinnee and Hora Harsadi) and hilltops (Irreechaa Tulluu) in autumn. Carrying fresh green grass (Coqorsa), celebrants give praise to Waaqa for blessings, rain, and communal peace.
3. Buna Qalaa & Culinary Heritage
The ritual preparation of Buna Qalaa (coffee beans roasted in fresh spiced butter) represents a sacred social communion. Served during blessings, reconciliations, and family celebrations, it symbolizes the nourishment of mind and soul.
